Business Licensing and Compliance
Utani Motors is a licensed motor vehicle dealer in the State of Utah, authorized to sell new and/or used motor vehicles in compliance with state laws. All vehicle sales are conducted under a valid motor vehicle dealer license issued by the Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division (MVED) of the Utah Department of Public Safety.
Automobile dealers in Utah, including Utani Motors, must meet the requirements and maintain a current dealer license to legally sell, display, or offer motor vehicles for sale. These requirements include having an approved principal place of business, meeting display and signage standards, posting a surety bond, and complying with state reporting and record‑keeping regulations.
Key Dealer License Requirements (Utah)
Principal Place of Business:
A licensed dealership must have a permanent business location that complies with zoning rules, includes an enclosed office for conducting business and records, and has display space for vehicles.Signage:
A permanent sign at least 24 sq ft in size must clearly display the dealership name as licensed with MVED.Surety Bond:
A dealer must obtain and file a surety bond (e.g., $75,000 for standard new or used vehicle dealers) with the MVED to protect customers against certain types of financial misconduct.Application and Inspection:
Dealership license applications, including all required forms and fees, must be submitted to the MVED. The designated business location is subject to an inspection before the dealer license is issued.Training and Fingerprinting:
